All was just fine before the update, but I took no chances and did a system back-up using Aptik. Did the update, Digikam was REMOVED from the system, I have no idea why this occurred. Tried to re-install via synaptic and got nowhere the software stating that there were broken packages. The same result with apt-get install!
sudo apt-get install digikam Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies. libsndio7.1 : Breaks: libsndio7.0 (= 1.8.1-1.1) but 1.8.1-1.1 is to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. I've determined that the root of the problem has something to do with digikam-private-libs. Both versions available, 4:7.6.0-0ubuntu1~22.04.sav0 (jammy) and 4:7.5.0-3fakesync1 (jammy), refer to libsndio7.*** (something) there are also two versions for that. Could you please inform me as to how to proceed now? I've two photo exhibits upcoming, and I really need Digikam! Thank you for your time. Denis-André Desjardins.
