When I came to install libdvdcss2, which is not in Debian, Package
Installer warned:
A newer version is available in a software channel.
It is strongly advised to install from the software channel, since it
usually has more support.
As this obviously wasn't the case, I installed anyway. To test, I re-ran
Package Installer on the same deb, which now warns:
An older version is available in a software channel.
It is strongly advised to install from the software channel, since it
usually has more support.
Of course, libdvdcss2 is no more available via APT after installing it
via Package Installer than it was in the beginning.
