Package: digikam
Version: 2:1.1.0-1
Severity: important

I've been using digikam for quite a long time.
Following the upgrade to digikam 1.1.0, when I
tried to open digikam, I was greeted with an
error message to the effect that digikam was
unable to load the xine backup because it could
not find the shared object; digikam opened, but
no photo was shown in any album.

Surprised, I searched the web until I found somone
mentioning an old problem they had with phonon
and xine, where switching the backend to gstreamer
made things work.

I looked in the settings for a selection of phonon
backend, and could find none. I installed
phonon-xine-backend, and everything started working.

I suppose it is wrong to depend on xine in such a
roundabout way, but until digikam can figure out
and use whatever phonon backend is available, it
needs to make sure the one it needs is there.
