Package: skanlite
Version: 0.8-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
Skanlite as shipped in Wheezy shows corrupt preview images when lineart or dithered image types are selected. It looks as though the byte order is mixed up or the matrix is transposed because I see what should be an all-black area as a series of vertical black lines on a white field. This is on an HP ScanJet 7400C connected via USB.

The package in Squeeze worked fine with all image types.

   * What led up to the situation?
Upgraded from Squeeze to Wheezy.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Changing to Grayscale or Color image types works fine. Making an arbitrary selection then scanning to a file despite the corrupt preview gives the expected output in the file. (It is just the on-screen preview that is corrupted, but therefore unusable since one cannot determine the correct selection area.)

I found a workaround: preview scan in grayscale, select the desired area, change to lineart or dithered, then scan the final. This isn't ideal though because the dimensions apparently differ between the modes. (I had to make the selection about 30% taller to get the desired area.)
