I can confirm that without this patch, and with the following added to Build-Depends:, the script issues are fixed: libqtscript4-core, libqtscript4-gui, libqtscript4-network, libqtscript4-xml, libqtscript4-sql, libqtscript4-uitools
Is there any reason why you want to avoid these build-dependencies (other than "they shouldn't be needed")? It seems to be the added complexity from trying to work around this upstream decision is not worth the few megabytes of download which are saved.
