Keeping leader@... in CC just in case is needed. My bad, I meant exactly what you have wrote above :-) > > None the less I would like to know what is expected from your travel > > to Akademy, mostly because it might be of interest from the Qt side. > > Not much is officially expected of Debian in this capacity as it would > be our first appearance, but I would *definitely* like to raise any > longer-term, roadmap or philosophy-oriented issues. > > Specific and/or entirely-technical issues on the upstream bug tracker > naturally would not be entirely appropriate unless you think I could > help unblock them, of course. :) > > So, yes, one provocative way of phrasing is might be... what sucks for > you or our users about being downstream from KDE/Qt right now? (What is > good..?) Excellent :-) With my Qt maintainer hat on, and mostly to give you some hints in case you get asked: - Avoid using Qt private headers, except maybe the ones shipped in qtbase and qtdeclarative. We *do* know there are some of them which they can't avoid like QPA stuff for themming. We have tried to convince Qt upstreams to make it public API and will be happy to join efforts into doing so again if needed. - Avoid releasing software which uses not-stable-released Qt stuff. An example was stuff using Qt Speech before it became stable API/ABI. I can't remember exactly which piece of KDE-shipped software it was I'm afraid. Again, this is something for you to know in case you get asked, but nothing I would expect putting in the table on a first meeting chance. -- firmaware: soft cuya licencia pagas enviando un autografo StucKman en #grulic, irc.freenode.net Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer http://perezmeyer.com.ar/ http://perezmeyer.blogspot.com/
