Even more awesome! :-)

I am thinking the next step is to take one package all the way thru the mentors.debian.net process and get that all smoothed out, then work on
the rest.

Just join our team.

The Debian sponsoring/mentoring system is for lonely riders, not teams.

In other words: You need no mentor or sponsoring when working with us.

Are you already subscribed to this mailinglist? Can I drop you as

I've just added you. Welcome to the team! You can start importing your
packages into git.

Yee haw! I'm going to work thru the final kinks in the upstream SVN
where I have been doing the development/packaging so far. Then I'll
upload them.

I believe I speak for the team if I say we prefer if you work directly
on the git repository, because then interested people can look at the
commit logs via de commits mailing list.

Yes, that's my plan. So far, I've been doing the debian development in the upstream SVN. I thought it made the most sense to finish up the initial work there, so there is a coherent history there. Then once I submit the package to Debian, switch it over to the pkg-multimedia git. Does that make sense?

BTW, all those externals seem to come from the same repository. I'm not
quite familiar with Pd's release workflow, but it seems to me that
externals are not released independently of pd. In such a case, it might
be better so create a single source package that builds all of these
externals? Indeed, there seems to already be a makefile to build all of

Yeah, we have been releasing them in a giant tarball, but we are stopping that as of our next release. I'm the release manager for all platforms (including Mac OS X and Windows) so my plan is to get all of the elements into Debian, then base my release schedule around what's released in Debian.

Finally, you might want to also take over pd-zexy (orphaned: #546964) as
part of the same source package (also at the same svn repository).

It turns out that the pd-zexy upstream author, IOhannes Zmölnig, is a long time Debian user and working on becoming a DM, so I've encouraged him to join pkg-multimedia and maintain pd-zexy here. If he doesn't want to, I'll do it.
