Ah, makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

I think this package makes most sense for our team if at least two members of our team can actually test and use those cards. This requires running a 2.6.34 kernel and using this firmware. Otherwise I'm not so sure.

Well, I don't have the necessary hardware to test myself either. Shall I go ahead and place this under collab-maint and ask debien-mentors for a sponser?

Huh?!?

If you succeed at that, you've just proven exactly why I dislike the sponsor system: People not really responsible about some packages let others also not really responsible put them into debian.

The sponsor system wasn't designed to loosen responsibility but in effect it (sometimes) does that.

No - please do not try to get a package into Debian which you do not care about yourself, make sure yourself works properly, and intend yourself to maintain in the future to keep working properly.

Sorry if I sound rough. I really really appreciate efforts - also contributions other than properly packaged and maintained packages. I just really want it perfectly clear what "package maintainance" is.

Kind regards,
