Sure. However, as soon as lame is accepted into Debian, audacity should Recommends: libmp3lame0 anyway (and the dialog should be adapted accordingly). As I doubt this will happen before the release of Squeeze, we should wait until an official backport of the lame package is available and then point there (update the dialog via a minor update to the audacity package in stable). Until then, we should simply point nowhere. ;)

I fail to understand the "however" in above.

We should not point to locations outside Debian. Period.
