An initial packaging release really contains no "changes", except the fact that it is released, and related info (bug closure and perhaps mentioning which Debian suite is targeted).
Also, VCS-only juggling back and forth is irrelevant to pass on to the changelog for the resulting source package. In other words: Even if this was not an initial release, the note on removing (a.k.a. reverting the addition of) build log should be stripped.
