well, i thought it would probably be of minor interest to the entirety of DDs using cdbs to have pd-specific parts in it (it's not that i expect a use as wide as with perl or python).

I can't imagine how anyone would be annoyed by not only major but also minor packaging patterns supported in main CDBS package as opposed to add-on packages.

Also, I strongly suspect that CDBS add-on packages generally use fewer of the evolving CDBS features than those part of CDBS itself.


With my CDBS maintainer hat on, I'd be happy to adopt the CDBS parts into CDBS itself!

this of course would make long term maintainance easier...

My thinking too.


But ultimately it is your decision.  There is no single truth to this.
