Sorry if this was me being vague previously: I meant only to strip the debian part of the version (-1) not the debian hack to the upstream part (~dfsg).

FWIW, I'd suggest to do a "s/1.1.0/1.1.0~/" on the file (i.e., append a '~' instead of '~dfsg'). Same also for (build-)dependencies.

But that's probably more a matter of taste.
