Package: mplayer
Version: 2:1.0~rc4.dfsg1-2
Severity: important

After taking the latest Debian "aptitude safe-upgrade," I get the following error message any time I play an AVI or MKV file:

$ mplayer -msglevel all=6  foo.avi

<text elided, start of VO section:>

Even just a help message gives a warning message:

$ mplayer --help
mplayer: Symbol `ff_codec_bmp_tags' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
Warning unknown option skin at line 102

I've marked this as "important" on the theory that others have not been complaining, and therefore some local interaction is giving me this problem.
