I have once suggested the exact same, but IIRC this was frowned upon. Reasons were that we generally do not want to recommend and rely upon third-party respositories at all, that the packages in there are not in control of DDs let alone the security team, that one cannot upload NMUs and that not all architectures supported in Debian are presented there.
