Package: libdvb
Version: 0.5.5.1-5.1
Severity: important

There is some consensus that packages with test suites should disable
running it if DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS contains 'nocheck'. Policy doesn't
mandate that yet, but it says that rules files must ignore unknown
flags. Building libdvb with nocheck fails:

Applying patch 030_implicit_declarations.diff
patching file libdvbmpeg/ringbuffy.c

Applying patch 040_gcc43.diff
(Patch is indented 1 space.)
patching file sample_progs/cam_menu.hh

Now at patch 040_gcc43.diff
# Build the PIC library
echo 'CFLAGS=-O2 -Wall -g -fPIC' > config.deb
/usr/bin/make nocheck
make[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/buildd/libdvb-0.5.5.1'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `nocheck'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/buildd/libdvb-0.5.5.1'
make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2
dpkg-buildpackage: failure: debian/rules build gave error exit status 2
