I have to correct myself: even the frontend code in faac is licensed under the LGPL (I mixed this up with the gtkpod+mp4v2 situation). But parts of libfaac are imposed with further restrictions that make it incompatible with about any other possible open-source license. Thanks, Carl Eugen. - Fabian
