No need for apologies: Assuming the new release does not require a SONAME bump, deadline before deep freeze is still more than a week away. Also, if you discover severe bugs (especially if affecting security) then such are permitted through also during freeze (and after final stable Debian release, even). Since I am not directly involved with maintaining lilv I will leave it to others to actually upgrade the Debian package.
