Thanks for your reply. With the previous version of ffmpeg that I was using, I had set up my scripts to use libfdk_aac, described on that page as "the highest-quality AAC encoder available with ffmpeg". I have never used the VisualOn AAC encoding library.
Is there a reason why the FDK encoder is no longer included?
