Another workaround is to use the 2.4 version from cosmic: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/cosmic/+source/ocsinventory-agent
For example: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/381276970/ocsinventory-agent_2.4.2-1_amd64.deb In Ubuntu 18.04 it's working.
