If you only changed the file under /etc, that's a configuration file, which means that dpkg will see that you modified it, and prompt you to know whether you want to keep yours, install the new one (shipped by the new package), or examine the situation. So that should be safe. If you would have changed it in ./camlibs/ptp2/library.c, that would be lost on upgrade (but with more recent versions, that camera got added, as pointed out by Frederic). > > Please tell me what to do, thanks for your time, I'd keep things as they are.
