I am seeing similar to what Gerard ROBIN <g.rob...@free.fr> saw. I have two machines, both using HDMI monitors. I find that the quickest way to restore sound is Configuration -> Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output -> Digital Stereo (HDMI 3) Output (unplugged) (unavailable) [or similar] -> Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output.
Host hawk was running bullseye and earlier without seeing this problem. tiassa is a new computer and a fresh installation. M. Robin may well be correct that the real problem lies lower in the stack, but this is where I am seeing it. I note that both machines are running Intel hardware and the snd_hda_intel driver. Another machine, tsalmoth, a laptop, with Intel hardware but with no HDMI monitors, does not exhibit this behavior. root@hawk:~# lspci -s 0:1b 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 9 Series Chipset Family HD Audio Controller root@hawk:~# lspci -vs 0:1b 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 9 Series Chipset Family HD Audio Controller Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. 9 Series Chipset Family HD Audio Controller Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 35 Memory at f7e10000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [60] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+ Capabilities: [70] Express Root Complex Integrated Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] Virtual Channel Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel root@hawk:~# uname -a Linux hawk 6.1.0-16-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.67-1 (2023-12-12) x86_64 GNU/Linux root@hawk:~# oot@tiassa:~# lspci -vs 0:1f.3 00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Device 54c8 DeviceName: Onboard - Sound Subsystem: Intel Corporation Device 7270 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 32, IRQ 131, IOMMU group 8 Memory at 6001110000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Memory at 6001000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [80] Vendor Specific Information: Len=14 <?> Capabilities: [60] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+ Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel, snd_sof_pci_intel_tgl root@tiassa:~# uname -a Linux tiassa 6.1.0-15-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.66-1 (2023-12-09) x86_64 GNU/Linux root@tiassa:~# root@tsalmoth:~# lspci -vs 0:1b 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 04) Subsystem: Lenovo 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 42, IOMMU group 6 Memory at e0418000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [60] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+ Capabilities: [70] Express Root Complex Integrated Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] Virtual Channel Capabilities: [130] Root Complex Link Kernel driver in use: snd_hda_intel Kernel modules: snd_hda_intel root@tsalmoth:~# uname -a Linux tsalmoth 6.1.0-16-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.67-1 (2023-12-12) x86_64 GNU/Linux root@tsalmoth:~# -- Does anybody read signatures any more? https://charlescurley.com https://charlescurley.com/blog/ _______________________________________________ pkg-pulseaudio-devel mailing list pkg-pulseaudio-devel@alioth-lists.debian.net https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-pulseaudio-devel
