Package: pulseaudio
Version: 0.9.10-2
Severity: normal
This is in syslog
Aug 28 07:19:47 u400 pulseaudio[18147]: alsa-util.c: Device hw:1 doesn't
support 44100 Hz, changed to 37286 Hz.
Aug 28 07:19:47 u400 pulseaudio[18147]: alsa-util.c: Device hw:1 doesn't
support 2 channels, changed to 1.
I don't know why; another Debian installation on the same computer, also
with 2.6.26 doesn't have this problem.
pulseaudio is trying to use the pc speaker device. The sounds are
horrible, of course.
I blacklisted snd-pcsp and pulseaudio goes back to using the sound card.
I found more information about the bug from this Ubuntu thread:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/242966
That thread claims that it is fixed in an ubuntu package with the same
version as the Lenny version, but obviously this is not what I see.
How to reproduce:
I don't know, sorry. Is it kernel specific? I don't get it when I boot
into 2.6.24.
