The new logind.conf and logind.conf.d(5) man page describe a
logind.conf.d directory for drop-in snippets. Please also
ship /etc/systemd/login.conf.d/ in the package to make it
easier to use this.

Hm, I'm a bit torn on this. If we go this route, then in order to be consistent, we'd have to create a whole bunch of such directories, basically for all those files:

systemd: /etc/systemd/journald.conf
systemd: /etc/systemd/logind.conf
systemd: /etc/systemd/networkd.conf
systemd: /etc/systemd/pstore.conf
systemd: /etc/systemd/resolved.conf
systemd: /etc/systemd/sleep.conf
systemd: /etc/systemd/system.conf
systemd: /etc/systemd/user.conf
systemd-coredump: /etc/systemd/coredump.conf
systemd-journal-remote: /etc/systemd/journal-remote.conf
systemd-journal-remote: /etc/systemd/journal-upload.conf
systemd-timesyncd: /etc/systemd/timesyncd.conf

I don't expect those configuration files to be edited that often though. So I'm unsure whether cluttering /etc/systemd with all those directories would be worth it tbh.

Regards,
Michael
