For future robustness, you might want to use 'dh_perl -d' instead of
removing ${perl:Depends}. Something like
override_dh_perl:
dh_perl -d
and
Depends: perl-base (>= 5.20.1-3), ${perl:Depends}, ${misc:Depends}
