So, I discussed this further with Martin Pitt. We agreed that backporting this particular commit to v215 is too invasive, so are not going to do this. Since we want to address this in jessie though, we concluded that for jessie, we will build with ---with-dns-servers=, i.e. do not specify any default DNS servers. This won't change this for sid/testing though. Re-opening and only marking as fixed for 217-1 -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
