reassign 584102 sysvinit-utils reassign 583562 sysvinit-utils thanks This sound like the issue discussed in bug #584102. Does it work to turn off parallel booting as described there? If so, the issue is most likely with startpar in the sysvinit-utils package. Reassigning there.
