I am unable to see from your bug report exactly what you believe is wrong with sysvinit. The only thing I could see from your report is that you have written a init.d script that you are unable to get working, and I assume you do not expect the sysvinit maintainers in debian to debug that setup for you so I fail to understand what you expect us to do.
