Package: initscripts Version: 2.88dsf-27 Severity: wishlist I'm experimenting with cross-grading packages from i386 to amd64; this has to be done without much help from apt, unfortunately[1]. An obstacle I found is that quite a few important packages have a dependency on initscripts (mostly due to the /run transition), making their crossgrade somewhat difficult. If initcripts were marked "Multi-Arch: foreign", its reverse dependencies could be crossgraded without hassle.
Maybe it would also make sense to mark the other packages in the sysvinit suite as "Multi-Arch: foreign" as well. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.4.2-nouveau (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages initscripts depends on: ii coreutils 8.13-3.2 ii debianutils 4.3.1 ii libc6 2.13-33 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian7 ii mount 2.20.1-5 ii sysv-rc 2.88dsf-27 ii sysvinit-utils 2.88dsf-27 Versions of packages initscripts recommends: ii e2fsprogs 1.42.4-2 ii psmisc 22.17-1 initscripts suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/default/rcS changed: TMPTIME=0 SULOGIN=no DELAYLOGIN=yes VERBOSE=yes FSCKFIX=no -- no debconf information 1. Replacing foo:i386 with foo:amd64 is done by removing foo:i386 and then installing foo:amd64, which does not work for Essential packages. _______________________________________________ Pkg-sysvinit-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-sysvinit-devel
