On fluxbox, the menu icons of nm-applet (ex. the wifi level icons),are not
visible.The problem seems be specific on fluxbox.For example, executig
nm-applet on xfce4, the menu icons are showed.

Sounds like a fluxbox problem then.
Since fluxbox is a minimal WM you probably need to setup the environment
manually then.
