The upstream solution in the 1.5.x development branch was to only issue this warning once, rather than every time it tries. Closing as fixed in experimental. I realise it isn't fixed in unstable yet - I'll backport the relevant commit at some point, unless there's a 1.6.x stable branch before I get there. The background portal is new in 1.4.x, so stable should be unaffected. smcv
