This split happened upstream and in bookworm. As a result, x-d-p-gtk no longer implements screencasting/remote-desktop, which cannot be done in a desktop-agnostic way. The mutter-based screencasting is now in x-d-p-gnome, which Recommends a suitable version of gnome-shell or budgie-desktop. smcv
