I was actually compiling compiz fusion, not a program made by me. It does use
pkg-config, although I don't know if the C-side has to do something (i.e.
define a macro, use an auto-generated header,etc.)
The compilation errors were caused inside /usr/include/dbus-1.0/dbus/dbus.h
(compiz fusion just makes "#include <dbus/dbus.h>")
And moving dbus-arch-deps.h fixes it. That's why I thought it was wrong.
