Package: resolvconf
Version: 1.39
Severity: important
I have dnsmasq installed, so my /etc/resolv.conf always lists 127.0.0.1
as the nameserver.
When I use NetworkManager to connect to VPN (using VPNC), I get a couple
of DNS addresses which are important to access my hostnames behind the
VPN network.
These DNS entries are not captured by resolvconf.
I looked into the following folder:
rrs@learner:/etc/resolvconf/run/interface$ ls
eth1 lo.dnsmasq
The folder has no entry for my tun0 device which is used for VPN
connection. With this not in place, I'm forced to either manually add
the DNS entries to the /etc/resolv.conf file or add the hostnames to my
/etc/hosts file
If I remove resolvconf, NetworkManager is able to update the
/etc/resolv.conf file properly with the VPN Internal DNS records.
