Package: udisks
Version: 1.0.4-7wheezy1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
I noticed slowness on my system, and in htop I detect almost all processing
power devoted to io wait. Then I issued this command:

for x in `seq 1 1 10`; do ps -eo state,pid,cmd | grep "^D"; echo "----"; sleep
5; done

and then I detect tons of udisks-helper-ata-smart-collect processes slowing my
system.

Further investigation shows that the disk has stopped answering properly.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expect a non-system disk being unrresponsive (this is a data disk with almost
no access, normally sleeping) not to paralyze my whole system.
