After reading a few more bug reports, I figured I should submit a few other
bits:
The machine is a Thinkpad T400, running thinkpad_acpi from kernel 2.6.32.24.
When I press the power button under X, I just get the xscreensaver to lock
the screen.
Just installing policykit did not change anything.
