Since we're in deep freeze period and Squeeze is about to be released, it's not exactly the best time to push a complete new desktop environment to unstable (even experimental). The 4.8 upgrade might be a bit tricky, so it'll be post Squeeze release. Basically the packages are done in our svn, it misses some polishing before upload but they are mostly ready so expect an upload (experimental or sid, we don't know yet) not so long after the release.
