Indeed, when a user is preselected autologin doesn't work, but it kind of make sense to me actually, since (afaict) that means someone else already logged in previously, and I would find it weird to log me back in if I just logged out. > > The password is displayed only when the users is preselected from > previous session - i mean: user is selected at start the LigtDM. So far, I manage to have an user preselected when restarting lightdm (wether manually or because I've just logged out of a session), but password doesn't appear in clear text at all.
