Ok, retitled the bug report accordingly.

That sounds like xfburn should probably check for ID_CDROM_*
Lionel wanted to add a workaround to xfburn if I understood him correctly.

Hm, if none of those tools show anything, then this might explain why
ID_TYPE is set to generic for you.
