I have several photos that I have rotated in Shotwell and then saved the JPEG to some other directory. Xfce (Thunar, xfdesktop4) shows the thumbnail in its original orientation (unrotated). But if I delete the thumbnail and then view the directory in MATE or GNOME (i.e., using Caja or Nautilus), the thumbnail is shown rotated. If I open the jpeg, the image is shown rotated, so I view the unrotated thumbnail as a bug. I can't tell if this is a problem with Xfce or whatever thumbnailer Xfce uses (tumbler?); please reassign if appropriate. I see the problem in both Jessie and Stretch.
