Here is my crazy idea. I'd like to be able to execute a script that will add a task to a certain page.
So I would type someting like planner-create-task.sh "Task Description" "2007-06-19" "Page" And this would magically work :) So I'd like to probably run emacs in server mode then connect with an emacsclient and execute that script which would add the task and update any task pages I have open that are affected. What I need to know is if this is possible :) Background Information: I use Unbuntu and I am jealous of the application called Quicksilver for OS X. Gnome-launch-box is the beginning of a clone. The basic idea is to be able to add tasks from anywhere not just inside emacs. I don't use emacs for everything (!) so I need to be able to quickly select some text in another application and turn it into a task. If I could execute a shell script to do this, that would be very handy. Alternatively if someone knows of an easy way to make my Desktop/Window Manager switch to emacs, no matter where it is, virtual desktop etc. that would be almost as useful and alot easier to get started.
