It's a real challenge to describe Asterisk in 5 minutes (or less).
It's also hard to convince people that it's not just a PBX once you
get started. We need to try showing the infinite possibilities of
Asterisk.

Simon, last year you talked about using an x10 home automation device
with a mechanical fan. Then adding the ability to turn it on and off
via a phone call. I think that would be a way to show people just how
infinite the possibilities are.

A demo of bluetooth presence detection would also be great. Or perhaps
we could get a video phone (or two) on the desk.

Also I think we need to work on some posters. One idea that was
floated around before was a poster describing a typical problem in
each market and how Asterisk could solve it. Home, Small, Medium,
Large, and Call Center.

For example with the home market "A typical family of four and the
teenagers are hogging the phone all the time. With Asterisk and VoIP
each family member now has their own voicemail box and by paying per
minute there's not only a large economical benefit to the family but
each family member can be on the phone at the same time." or
something.

That's all for now,
Blaine Aldridge
