Is anybody handy with basic electronics? I think people would be interested in things like Termocouple that can be polled. You can phone in for temperature reports (or have a cron job that runs once a minute and makes a phone call with a recording if the temp exceeds some threshold). Phone into your home and give it an eta. It'll set the furnace.
