Dear PlantGENE Members,

I’m currently working on developing a luciferase mutant line in tomato (Solanum
lycopersicum) for my genes of interest. My goal is to design an inducible
luciferase system that will allow me to measure gene expression over multi-day
time periods.

While my focus is on tomato, I would be grateful to hear from anyone with
experience creating inducible luciferase systems in any plant species.

I’m especially looking for advice on the design of the system:

  * selecting appropriate inducible promoters for luciferase expression in
tomato,
  * people’s experience working with a particular established construct
  * which luciferase protein works best in a plant system.

If you’ve worked on luciferase systems in tomato or similar plants, or if you
know of relevant protocols, papers, or tools, I would love to hear your
insights.

Thank you very much for your time and expertise! Please feel free to respond
here or contact me directly at [email protected]

Best regards,
