Hay ML, i found a little weird the feature Add Panel in the case i already have a panel on the top edge. I can see hardcoded panel->setLocation(Plasma::TopEdge) in both panel.cpp and desktop.cpp but we should have something like freeEdges(screen) (as suggested by Marco) in order to put the panel on the empty edge.. and maybe keep in mind the case of dual monitors.. Anyway i wait for your suggestions (even where to put the method freeEdges(screen) eventually).
