what it does do is it automatically crafts the URL for you based on the project name and shows a listing that might be a bit more appropriate. but yes the plasmoid should be changed to use the RSS dataengine; there is no need for a separate engine. (cute historical note: the cia applet and engine were the second of each to be written for plasma and were simply use case tests for me while writing the initial versions of those classes) -- Aaron J.
