I just opened a review request on the same topic. When I started working on it a few hours ago this request wasn't there yet and I didn't check again before publishing it... sorry about that. I didn't check all the calculations in your patch but I'm running it now and I don't see any problems. Well, except the issue with vertical and horizontal pagers that I tried to fix with my patch (http://reviewboard.kde.org/r/1123/) but that wasn't what you tried to fix.
