I don't think we achieve anything substantial on that goal. The rise of
JDT-LS and Generic Editor has brought some new ideas, I think some patches
allowed to extract some language-agnostic logic from JDT into some more
generic bundle, and some interesting discussions took place about how to
best organize such a LTK.
But nothing strong was delivered, and this goal is more a life-time goal I
believe: it's more about getting started with a few items, set the practice
and example for future work.
So we can remove it from the Plan for 4.8 and find a better way to express
the intent for 4.9.
