Dear platform developers, in order to improve the usage of SAP “ABAP Development Tools” we are following the Visual Studio Code approach and display release notes in an editor tab directly after an update got applied. We are currently using our own custom implementation. We would love to move it into the Eclipse platform and suggest that the Eclipse release notes are directly being shown after an update as well.
A co-worker put all the details in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=546823. I would be great to get some comments and opinions from your side in this bug. Once we have a common understanding we are willing to implement this in platform. During our custom implementation we had some struggles with the Help-System’s API. We would need some help and guidance from somebody that is familiar with the Eclipse Help-System. Can somebody help in this area?
