I don't think I have enough details to make it a valuable addition to the
wiki page.

As far as I understood the thing is that GitLab is located in Europe while
GitHub is located in the US. With the move of the foundation to Europe this
is something to consider. Maybe a webmaster or someone from the foundation
can add the proper details on this topic.

The contribution workflow in GitHub is pretty the same as with GitLab. So
in any way we as committers will need to change the way we review and how
to work in our projects. And in both cases it will be probably the same
workflow. GitHub has actually a broader adoption, but such things can
change.

IMHO there is no big difference technically and by looking at the new
workflow. The legal aspect needs to be clarified by the foundation in some
way.
