The patch tracking system wont let you update binary files so the only option may be send and email to Nate directly with the file.
But of course we have to wait his opinion.

Ok I'll wait for his reply.

Are you using it in Gazebo right now ? If so, you can send your .model / .world file also.

No. The files will need to be converted to the mesh format.

Hi,

I have a URG laser model in the wavefront object format that I can contribute. I use a different program than Blender but I think *.obj files are easily read in by other programs so it could be converted or manipulated. How shall I submit it?

Thanks,

Nate

New year and everyone want to be a better person this year.
You even may want to help some open source project or do something to make robotics advance. Don't look any further, here some easy (dont need to know Gazebo internals) TODO point you can help with :

- Models
- This involves so blender work, look for some free model or make one, export it and make a .model file.
-- Robot models
--- Several models from Gazebo 0.7 has not been ported.
--- Any popular robot or the one you are working with!
--- When the general steering goes in, trucks, cars, tricycles and anything in between can be controlled, we need models!
-- Other models
--- Gazebo has great support for exteriors and soon Nate will finish the interiors mode --- We already received some excellent job but a library of useful models can be make together to benefict all us.

- Textures, Materials, etc.

- Reorganize Media with all these things

- Run Valgrind/Oprofile

- Documentation
-- Even 0.8-pre1 documentation is outdated (the new <visual> tag, etc)
-- Port documents from 0.7?
-- More documents are always needed, references to Blender tutorials, etc.
- Some programming
-- Overload de << operator of gzthrow so that it is easier to send data to it
-- Make gzerror similar to gzthrow
-- New sensors! Or controllers !
